Over the past month Nick and I have been making an effort to do some new things for date nights, something that doesn't involve a take away and Netflix because lets be honest here, that's about as exciting as most date nights get. This month we tried two new things that I thought I'd share with you in case you were needing a little inspiration.
Firstly, after going to a comedy club on my friends hen do in Bath last month and I enjoying it so much I really wanted to find a club in Sheffield for us to go to. Having a laugh with a drink sounds like pretty much the perfect date right? After a quick Google I found that The Leadmill has a comedy club on the first Wednesday of every month, so I immediately bought tickets, which at £6 each is a totally bargain.
When we arrived there were so many seats and little tables so we managed to get a got our own little one. It became quite obvious that it was more of a student kind of event but I was alright with that, except for the bar, it took forever to get served, so much so that Nick gave up and walked off after waiting for 15 minutes in the break, so I'd recommend getting served before it starts and buying however much you intend to drink!
There was 3 acts in total and I personally really liked each one, they all had very different comedy styles which I liked because it was a bit of variety and each one of them had me laughing a lot. It went on for a good couple of hours, so for £6 it's a decent amount of entertainment, especially compared to something like the cinema, which is £11 a pop! So really recommend this, we'll be attempting to go every month from now on!

Then for the second date Nick and I went to Paradise Island - Adventure Golf at Centertainment. I was approached by them asking if I'd like to play a few games for a review and I thought it would be a fun thing to do for a date before going for some food. I honestly had no idea that this place existed at Centertainment so was excited about checking it out. Although I am quite aware that Paradise Island is aimed at children I just thought it'd be a bit of fun to try out and then we could head for some food after, because why not?!
When we arrived we decided to take the mystical jungle ruins 18 hole course because it looked more appealing to us. It was quite busy because it was half term but we didn't have to wait around for anyone or anything like that, so we could pretty much play at our leisure. Some of the holes are pretty similar so not much variety like what you'd expect from mini-golf but there were some 'trick shot' type of holes which mixed it up a little.
We both had some fun playing this, we both took our time because otherwise I could imagine you just zipping through this as an adult, but we were there for a good 30 minutes. It was very much a draw from the beginning, sometimes Nick would over take my score then I'd climb back again but in the end I lost by about 4 shots, booo! But we had a fun time and I can imagine kids having a laugh with this and enjoying it, especially all the weird creatures and noises.
After playing we decided to head to the new Five Guys restaurant a couple of doors down. I'd heard all the hype about Five Guys burgers being really tasty but a little on the pricey side and I have to agree with this 100%. We were both really impressed with the food but did find it a little expensive for what it was, however the drinks machine and the milkshakes were completely worth it. I tried a few things from the drink machine, including Cherry & Vanilla Cola and Peach Sprite, let me know if you found some awesome combinations for my to try at some point! :)
I really enjoyed getting out and about and trying some new things, I think it's quite important in a long term relationship to go out on fun date nights and try some new things, it's fun experiencing new things together!
Do you have any fun date night suggestions? As I would love to hear them so I can add them to our list!
*Nick and I were asked to play for free at Paradise Island, however my views are 100% mine and are not influenced in any way.

Great ideas! My boyfriend and I have been together for five years this year, and we did start getting in a slump of watching episode after episode of Prison Break every night. We both really enjoy mini golf; we like Moby Dick golf in Romford. As we are moving out in August, we're also enjoying trips to IKEA, Harvey's and Bensons right now, which is oddly relaxing as you can sit and lay down all you like whilst shopping haha!

Great ideas. My OH and I are always broke after buying our first house so find date nights difficult but a comedy night sounds like a good idea. I love fun mini golf like the one you went to, too. I played at one in Bristol Cabot Circus once, that was a lot of fun! x www.aimeeraindropwrites.co.uk x
