When I was invited to try some tasty burgers by Twisted Burger Company at the Harley pub in Sheffield, I was very excited. I do love a good burger but I must admit I'm fussy about burgers and quite hard to please, so Nick came along with me to give a second opinion from a big burger fan!
Nick and I used to drink in the Harley and to be honest I had no idea they even did food, so it was quite nice to head there late afternoon and see the place in quite literally, a whole new light.
The first thing I'd like to note is how cool the menu design is, I really liked the kind of skater print and the names are funny and thought through, Nick was impressed with the menu too and immediately mentioned he liked the style of it.
After we settled down and got a drink we were presented with some fries and sweet potato fries (my absolute favourite! heart eye emoji moment) and given the 3 Twisted Burger Company sauces to try, Nick was excited because there was a hot one and he's a massive chilli head. I tried all three and only really enjoyed the Burger sauce, which is good because I usually hate burger sauce and to make the magic number three Nick liked the other 2. The hot sauce wasn't the hottest, it tasted very much of Jalapeno's and the BBQ sauce was very very smokey, very chipotle which Nick loved it, I think this was his favourite overall.
The first burger we tried was Return of the Mac which was a bacon patty with mac & cheese on, we were too busy eating to actually take a photograph of it, typical, but this was really interesting, I've never tried a bacon patty before. Nick was a big fan of this.
The next thing I loved and which is probably my favourite, was the vegan option of Highway to Falaf-hell, a very tasty falafel with a sweet coconut and coriander dip which was amazing, I ate pretty much an entire tray of these to myself they were that good and continued to dip fries in the dip!
There were a few burger options, Nick enjoyed the smoked sausage and chicken patty and also enjoyed the hot burger, with beef, jerk mutton and Harley hot sauce, which wasn't really that hot, so a little disappointing for any chilli heads out there and I wasn't wowed by the vegetarian burger sadly. Although I'm not a huge burger fan I can see these being very popular, everyone seemed to be really enjoying them, whereas I was digging more of the side options. I really enjoyed the chicken wings and definitely ate more than my fair share...sorry guys!
I really do think this is a good place to eat for people into this kind of food, the portion sizes were huge and the variety was quite different and I really enjoyed the rock/alternative vibe and atmosphere from the place. I also thought the sauces were pretty decent and went well with the burgers.
I can see us both wanting to eat here again, I'd certainly put together my own burger rather than picking one from the menu and would with absolute certainty be ordering a side of sweet potato fries all.to.myself.
Have you eaten any Twisted Burger Company burgers? What's your favourite combo? I'd love to know your thoughts as I can see us heading back for the a second taste over the summer.

*I was invited to eat here free of charge for a press event however my thoughts are 100% my own and are not influenced in any way.
I LOVE Twisted Burger Co! I've eaten there so many times! If you're a fan of Sunday Dinner you have to go on a Sunday where they literally put a Sunday Dinner in a burger! It's amazaing! xx
ReplyDeleteI love Twister Burger Co, but haven't been for ages! I love their fries and I actually really like the burgers, but I'm a huge burger fan.
